How to Refer a Client to a Personal Injury Chiropractor in Northern Virginia

When a client needs care after an accident, a smooth referral helps them start treatment sooner and keeps everyone informed along the way. This article walks through how referrals to Injury Relief Chiropractic work, from the first call to records requests, so you and your staff know what to expect.

Step 1: Contact Our Team

Call us at (833) 774-1075, email info@irchiro.com or use the form on our contact page. It helps to share:

  • Your client’s name and contact details

  • The date and type of accident, such as a car accident, slip and fall or workplace injury

  • Their main symptoms

  • The clinic location most convenient for them

  • Your office’s contact details and whether you’d like to discuss lien-based care

If you don’t have every detail yet, that’s fine. Our team can gather what’s needed directly from your client.

Step 2: Scheduling

Our team contacts your client to schedule their first visit at a time and location that works for them. We have clinics across Northern Virginia, open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 7 PM, all with free parking.

Step 3: The Initial Evaluation

At the first visit, your client’s chiropractor takes a detailed history, including how the accident happened and when each symptom began. A physical, orthopedic and neurological exam follows. From there, the chiropractor makes a diagnosis and recommends a treatment plan built around your client’s injuries.

If the exam suggests a need for imaging or care from another provider, we refer the patient accordingly. For a closer look at what the initial evaluation and later notes contain, see our guide to reading chiropractic records.

Step 4: Treatment and Follow-Up

Treatment may include chiropractic therapy, Active Release Technique, spinal decompression therapy and post-injury rehabilitation, depending on the patient’s needs.

Throughout care, we send appointment reminders, follow up when visits are missed and review progress at regular intervals. Consistent attendance supports recovery and keeps the treatment record clear, which we cover in more detail in our article on gaps in treatment.

Lien-Based Care

Many people delay care after an accident because they’re worried about paying for treatment while their case is open. For clients with an open personal injury claim, we can provide care on a lien basis. Payment for treatment is deferred until the case concludes, under a written agreement between your client, your office and our clinic.

The terms, including how and when the balance is paid, are set out in writing before care begins, so everyone knows what to expect.

Records and Communication

We document every visit accurately and keep records organized from the first evaluation through discharge. Records are released with the patient’s signed authorization. To request records or check on a referred patient, contact our team by phone or email.

How We Work With Attorneys

A few principles guide how we work with the legal community:

  • We work with personal injury attorneys from all firms, with no preference for any firm.

  • Treatment recommendations are based solely on each patient’s clinical needs.

  • Our documentation reflects what we find and the care we provide, recorded accurately at every visit.
